Reaching Out to Desperate, Hurting People

ABOUT THE HOME

Hi, I don’t know if you remember me or not. I’m Laurie _______.
I was down at the Promise Land in 1997. I got baptized in the pond behind and across the street from the cafeteria. I just wanted you to know what you did for me. I have straightened up my life and I am in college now, going to school for nursing. I tell everyone about The Promise Land. I know that while I was there I may have given you some problems. But, being there made me realize that there is life outside of drugs and alcohol. I learned about how God can help with your problems, no matter how bad they may be. I just want to THANK YOU, Joel and Sheri and all the staff at the Promise Land, especially Michelle.

– We are home for up to 20 or more men and women who are having serious problems.  Some have had a life time of alcohol & drug abuse – some starting at eight and ten years of age.  They include:  A single mother with a baby – an engineer – a building contractor – a pro-golfer – a businessman, a Vietnam vet – Hear & Air Contractor – a former drug counselor – sexually abused and physically abused men and women.  The list goes on and on.  Most are great people, talented people who have lost control of their life.  But for the grace of God, it could be one of us.  Many come to us sick physically, their possessions in a paper bag, teeth rotten, hurting, no money to go anywhere else.  With God’s help and your help we do our best to meet their needs.
