Reaching Out to Desperate, Hurting People

HOW WE ARE FUNDED

The Promise Land Ranch funding comes from churches, groups, individuals, who God uses to supply our needs.  Since 1987 we have worked and operated on faith.  We have several churches, clubs and individuals who have faithfully supported the Promise Land.  We do not receive Federal, State, United Way, etc. funding to operate our programs.

We believe this ministry belongs to God and we trust Him to provide for its needs.  Furthermore, we seek to glorify Him in everything we do, and in today’s culture this especially includes the financial arena.  Correspondingly, we do not actively solicit funds.  We believe that since it is God’s Ranch, God will be faithful to supply in a manner that honors Him.  This fundamental principle underlies the practical beliefs and commitments that direct our financial policies:

We believe it is our responsibility to actively seek Him in prayer for our financial needs.  We must be good stewards of the resources He provides and our personal lives must honor Him if our prayers are to have maximum effectiveness.

We believe God has called us to live within our means and to follow sound financial principals.  God provides everything we need for accomplishing the task He gives us.

While we consider the Promise Land Ranch to be an arm of the local church that ministers to needs that individual local churches may not be able to handle, the Promise Land is no substitute for and can never replace the church.  Thus we encourage those who support this organization to support their local church and its outreaches before considering the needs of ministries such as The Promise Land.

We believe the healing power of the gospel should be offered without strings attached.  Many agencies charge $20,000-$60,000. for even short  term programs which effectively disqualifies those who need help the most.  In contrast, we offer a highly successful program from which no one has ever been turned away for financial reasons.  We encourage each student to recruit a sponsor who will pray for him or her and help cover personal expenses during the program.

We believe that no unnecessary financial constraints should be placed upon anyone who desires to serve with us.  If God is prompting someone to receive the personalized training we offer, we will do everything we can to facilitate that individual’s desire.  As a result, we do not require staff or interns to raise any minimum support level before or after joining us.

We believe in communicating our financial needs with integrity.  We do not choose to communicate our needs through elaborate (and seemingly endless) fundraising appeals.  Our main avenue of communication is through our newsletter which is sent to individuals upon request.  The bulk of the letter relates how God is actively working in the ministry.  We also use the newsletter to let our friends know of our prayer concerns, which include financial needs, and to inform readers as to how God has faithfully answered those needs.  One of our annual fund raisers is the Golf Tournament sponsored by many businesses and friends of the  Promise Land.
